As many of us already know, unfair deactivation and lack of job security are some of the worst things about our job. At any moment, we could find ourselves disconnected from the platform, expected to spend days or weeks wrestling with the companies to get our jobs back, if ever. This is a problem that doesn't just affect drivers in California, but all around the world!
As a drivers union, we need to know how drivers experience job security to use this as a way to fight against unfair & illegal practices from the company. That is why RDU-CA, in partnership with the Asian Law Caucus, is launching our Rideshare Job Security Survey, so that we can truly understand job security on these platforms.
This is just the start of an international effort of driver groups to reign in on unfair and illegal deactivation of drivers!
We want to hear from you if you:
If you have driven for Lyft and Uber at any time over the past 4 years in California.
Whether or not you’ve been deactivated
Your participation will help your fellow drivers challenge deactivations here in California and throughout the world. As drivers, we know that we deserve a fair hearing when we face deactivation, and the dignity of having a human being review our cases, not just being fired by a robot!
